The Del-a-Where? Adventure

Such a busy weekend. I can't believe it all happened in just 2 days!

After a whole week of "get up go to work, work, go to work (another job), go home, pack, go to bed" it was nice to finish the routine and spend a nice 24 hours with my family. Brendan picked me up pretty early, and we had a nice car ride back to Dover. Mom and I went to my cousin's baby shower in lower slower, and it wasn't AS BAD as I thought it would be. It was a very nice party, and no one expected us to stick around chatting forever.

Afterwards, Mom and I took Mommom home. She is doing so well, I'm so happy for her. She's definitely embarrassed by the oxygen machine she has to be hooked up to now, but she's back at work 3 days a week, she's getting around fine, and she looks better. Mom thinks it's because after her trip to the hospital Mommom thought, well this is it. And gave up a little. But being back at work has put a flush back in her cheeks, and she still hasn't given up her sweets! Her grocery list was Scope, cookies, ice cream, 3 musketeers bars, and a sponge. I love her.

Then Mom and I did some shopping. I'd never been to Kohl's so we went there and I got a new skirt and a new top. This New Year's Resolution is turning into the one I've kept. And Happily! Bright new top and a cute skirt. Then the Dollar Tree. Because Dollar Store shopping is more useful than you can imagine! I got placemats for the new place, and am making a list of things for mom to send me from there when I'm moved in.

Family Pizza night back at home. Just like old times, Dad ordered each of us our own 12inch pizza (because no one likes each other's tastes in Curtis Landing anymore). My favorite is always going to be the Farmhouse. Cheddar, Bacon, and Mashed potatoes. Mmmm, fatty! And we watched Torchwood, which is actually a pretty good show.

Sleeping was interesting, see, because the cat's currently in quarantine in my room (he got in a fight past his rabies vaccination expiration date) and it's so much storage at this point that I couldn't sleep in there. I slept in the living room with the dog, who always loves me a bit too much. Luckily, he only tried to bunk with me once.

Then Brendan brought me back. Well, we stopped at IKEA first and I bought the sofa Andrew and I agreed on. The armchair is still out, but it turned out lucky anyway since it wouldn't have fit in the car! The reason we had to go was that I had tried to buy the furniture online, and found that for just the sofa the shipping was almos $400. No, no, no, no, no. No. Redic. (and yes, Erica, I'm sorry. This means that the lovely couch I bought from you last year will remain in the hands of the Berrys. There was nothing I could do. They made the deal while I was at work. I'm sorry.)

THEN (I know, right?) I got dressed and went off into the city for two shows: Portia Coughlan at H Street (I still hate going there) and Stunning at Woolly. Stunning was definitely the better show, though my friends were great in Portia. I think it was more a problem of text and depth with PC. The script for Stunning was fantastic, and the set was ... UH! And the lights... goh! And the sound... Ah! It was all so well put together. I only had a problem seeing (because apprently the best seat left was in the center of the balcony next to a man whose breath smelled like poop).

Then and ONLY THEN did I return home. I at least cleaned the room a bit, but there's so much packing left to be done... nzdk.bn .r.

Awe, so sad.. well for you, not Berry. B/C he gets the best couch in the history of couches. I hope your new furniture isn't too noticeably inferior. ;-)
