So the weekend was almost uneventful. Brendan (my brother) visited because he is running Sound for Hedda now. At first I was a little enh about driving from my apartment to WSC on the weekends, but thanks to passenger-recognition and Brendan's GPS on his phone, we didn't die.
We came close yesterday, though.
After the final performance of the weekend, my leaden body felt little up to the task of driving home down 16th street, so I opted for 395, having successfully done it the night before. Then I tried to change the music playing (thanks for the CDs Andrea, Becca, and Heather!!!) and missed a "keep right." So the GPS recalculated and I misinterpretted and managed to miss another "keep right." By this time we were nearing the Kennedy Center and Memorial Bridge and I wondered how I would ever get home alive.
The tour began thusly: First we saw the rear of the Lincoln Memorial and
crossed Memorial Bridge. Entering our first (but not last) traffic circle of the evening, I was more than a little impressed with our surroundings. So pretty, especially at sunset. Then as I recognized scenery from G-town, I began to get scared. We passed the hospital, then took a tour up Connecticut passing both Farraguts, through Dupont Circle, Adam's Morgan, the Zoo, and Van Ness. The GPS, or "Michelle" convinces us to stay on this road rather than just find 16th Street. Then after all that, we cut through Rock Creek Park and turned onto 16th street. Pah! We made it, and in only 3 times the time!

And, like all good adventures, it ended at Chipotle.
To sum up last week: Blah. Just blah. I am bitter and probably getting sick. I feel like lead and I don't know why!
Bright side: Andrew's HOME!!! For a couple of weeks only, but he's home! And the weather's turning. Huzzah!
