I want a tattoo of the stick figure from this painting. Star Dance by Alfred Gockel.In searching for Dance posters a few years ago, I stumbled upon Gockel's collection of Dance Paintings:
Sun Dance, Moon Dance, and Heart Dance.
Searching for these again later, I found two other paintings that echoed thoughts from my mind.
Uplifted Heart, and Unicyclist with Flowers
I am able to associate each of these paintings with ACT (star) SING (hearts) DANCE (moon) LAUGH (flowers) LIVE (sun) LOVE (heart).
Originally I wanted to get the letters ASD tattooed in some artistic form, but after I found all of these paintings I changed my mind. I then wanted all of the symbols from these paintings, in color, around a single stick figure. I realize this might be too complicated, and the tattoo artist (even if he's good) might not be able to duplicate them to my satisfaction. Not to mention the cost!
So I've settled on the Star Stick Figure for now, because I'll know what it means, it doesn't have to be big, and it's simple enough that it should translate. I just have to decide where to put it... hip? shoulder? lower back? ankle? wrist? Hmmmm....

Unicyclist with flowers - rock on - never seen that before.
And I really enjoy the stance of the Star Dancer - Let me know when you're getting inked. I've thought about it A LOT and almost have a couple times - but I'm too chicken....
