One Week?!

And what a week it was...n't.

Seriously. I had a major couple of adventures, but nothing is final yet on the job front.

Monday I had my phone interview with Round House Education. It went pretty well, I think I talked in generalizations too much, and the phones had a bad connection (odd, since the callers were only a hop skip and jump apart). I called out sick from work that morning and used the time to actually dispose all of the boxes leftover from the big move. And clean. And get the last of the groceries for my party. And curse the rain. And watch Anne of The Thousand Days. Genevieve Bujold IS Anne Boleyn as I would have wanted her. She is amazing. Gorgeous movie. Oh the party was nice, too. Small group, but good friends, and my first DoaM for awhile.

Tuesday was a BAD DAY. woke up groggy and listless, had to go to work at STC (always a bad thing), missed the first bus, the feds cashed my check which caused an overdraft, my feet are falling apart, I forgot my laptop charger so I couldn't use my computer during rehearsal (so no script), Bill and Hermione attacked each other again, etc etc etc whine whine whine...

Wednesday I had off from work (YAY!) and an audition for the Source Festival. Which I think went really well. I mean, the morning was crazy printing off headshots and paring down my 3 min mono to 90 seconds, but it paid off, and I went in confident and came out less shaky! And I love my new monologue, it's a great anger-venter and funny. I had to take the handcart Andrew's dad let us borrow back to his store in Bethesda... by bus. Yeah, that was fun. Then I had to go to the dentist for 4 fillings. Wait, I thought it was only supposed to be 1! Yeah, apparently Dr. Achikeh not only speaks with an accent, his accent affects numbers and his soft tone cnoveys none of the dental urgency. So, you know, at least I have insurance, but I still had to pay $150 for the fillings. And have to schedule 3 more appointments for more fillings. I am so not pleased. Fuck my teeth. Ew. Then the fucking metro... god... There was a Nats game, and apparently no Yellow line, so my 30 minute window that I would have gotten dinner in before rehearsal was closed tight, and I was 45 minutes late to a rehearsal that I was completely useless for. Boo.

I can't really remember yesterday except that I survived. Thank the gods. I missed most of Scrubs shopping for dinner, and The Office made me nervous. Jim and Pam cannot fight. Cannot! Jim is not Michael! I hate Ryan! I love Toby! "I think I'm going to hop the fence and jog home..." Rant over. I love that show.

I love the Folger, do I say that enough? I spent the morning there as usual, proving my usefulness. Barbara told me that she ran into Betsy last weekend and talked me the eff up! (Different words, but you get it). I'm still really nervous because I have to wait another week to know for sure whether I live or die. Literally. It's a tough wait, y'know?

BUT Bright side: As soon as Oresteia opens I am on a plane to Detroit! Super Shuttle arrives at 3:30am (AM, guys that's how serious I am) to whisk me off to the airport to fly my up to my boy for a whole week. Pizza Popoli's, John K King Books, ahhh that's about it... but Andrew! Very bright light there. And hopefully when I get back I will never have to go to STC again as an employee. Or not as FT anyway.

Let's go, Betsy! make the right call!

And speaking of right calls: I'm not one to comment on current events usually, but all of my newsfeeds had this story in them today. It's pretty heartbreaking. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/26/nyregion/26BELL.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin
