That guy who stands outside of Union Station with his big paper signs and liberal agenda (which is all well and good, but...) CALLING PEOPLE WHO DON'T TALK TO HIM "Conservative."
At first I didn't notice - I liked his witty, if boring, signs, and respected his right to protest the Right Wing. And I was wearing earbuds. One day, I wasn't wearing earbuds. As I passed him, I heard clearly, distinctly: "Conservative."
I thought, no, no, this must be my ears playing tricks on me. Can't be. You can't call anyone a name just for not taking your propoganda!
This has been going on for months now, and I am quite certain that every time I or anyone else passes him and his little stupid sign, and don't take his stupid little brochures that he printed at Kinkos last night at 3am to spread his stupid anti-Palin (and who really needs that anymore?) rhetoric - he calls us "Conservative." Not just calls us... labels us. Spits the word on our work shoes and travel-sneakers. Slaps us across the face with the word as if we, by ignoring his singular person, are Conservatives.
This week, when he spat the word at me, I turned around and said (to his back), "I'm not a conservative, I just don't want to talk to you, thanks." and went to work. The next day, he flung it at me again. I resisted the urge to break his sign over my knee and push him into a taxi in the traffic circle, but I don't know that he'll remain that lucky. I changed my walking route today, but I can't tell if it's longer than the way I usually go. If it is longer - i'm totally breaking his stupid re-used signs... and maybe his back.
Just... seriously? I mean, I don't want to talk to YOU, guy! Not talking to you doesn't make me an uber-right wing - i love FOX news - yay-prop8 - anti-progressive CONSERVATIVE! I'm Fucking Liberal! I wear chucks to work! I mean COME ON! First rule - KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE!! Why label everyone so generally? Because I don't want to talk to you, I am now a conservative? HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE?!?!
Also, what purpose do you serve anymore!? The Democrats are in the White House and Majority in the Senate! While, yes, we are still under Bush until 1.20.09, we freakin' WON, dude! Why are you still outside of Union Station protesting a group who has already fallen? I mean, way to kick'em when they're down! Because you know what? Your one sign will KEEP them down. Yeah - your sign is the one thing stopping a huge Republican Uprising. IN FACT, YOUR SIGN is the ONLY thing between US and a BUSH/PALIN ticket! (And I do mean the twins) WAY TO GO, GUY!
Damnit. I don't like him AT ALL!
