Aaaaand we're officially open.
However, our opening night had some pretty rough luck. Wintery mixes kept most of our press and vip invitees away from the show. Only the Post showed. However, those people that DID show up were a pretty great crowd once they settled in (yes, people, it's alright to laugh at this one... infact PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE laugh :-D). It was awesome seeing things from the other side of the door. Usually I'm at these things crossing off names and setting out food. This time I got to dress nice, keep my glam makeup on (bad for my face but good for my nerves), and laugh/ooh/aw with my castmates over our gifts to Chris, Amy, and Karen.
Meanwhile we REALLY need butts in seats this weekend as all the REST of the press is coming. Friendly audiences welcome!
Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day. I currently have a surfeit of Peanut Butter M&Ms to tote with me, so I'm a happy Caitlin.
Oh, AND I had a great couple of days recently, which you'd probably rather hear about than the same ol' actor-stuff.
Monday night was my first real DRUNK on a Monday in awhile, and BOY did it feel good! They were already throwing darts when we got there (Amy and I) and I was starving so I ordered chicken fingers... and a hardcore cider. Then we did shots: the classic soco and lime. Then another hardcore (and in the middle of that hardcore... a redheaded slut). I swear it was the deepest sleep I've had since I don't know when... before Hedda anyway!
Now, please don't mistake me for a lush. I enjoy my nights out, sometimes with a little less moderation than is advisable. But I trust the people I drink like that with, and don't mind being a little embarrassing.
Amy and I had made a deal that since we were practically the only ones on call on Tuesday (20/10 rush day) that if either of us was late, we had to buy the other lunch. That, and the great night's sleep, was the best motivation to get me to work early... but still not as early as Amy! I got a text message as I got on my bus that she was already downtown!
Yesterday I took a personal day off. It was a kind of... off and on day. I mailed my Christmas presents to Korea = good! It took 30 minutes and I left my debit card at the Post Office = bad. They found it and returned it when I came back later = good! Andrew and I had a fight about apartment space and cost of rent = bad. Andrew and I looked at our apartment choices and he came around to my side = good! I didn't get to eat my (actually icky) sandwich from Panera = bad. We got a fantastic dinner at Eggspectation = good! We got a financial planning book to share = implied good! We got ice cream and watched the Futurama DVD with JohnnnyD = good!! My face is still all effed up from makeup and weather =-painful.
Interested? I know. You are. :-D
Come see Hedda.
